We are in the Christmas season and I was thinking on Christmas and how the Christmas story in it's entirety it a perfect picture of true total worship. Lets take it from the beginning.

Mary, a young girl, who was to be married to a carpenter named Joseph. She sees an angel it reveals to her she is going to be the mother of God's only son. Mary accepts the task God has given her. This shows both obedience and trust. Obedience by accepting what God has planned for her to do and trust because she wasn't married yet and the Law demanded her to be punished for this, so she had to trust God would work it all out.

I have been re-reading a book on worship called "Facedown." It is written by Matt Redman, who has written some of the most well known and loved worship songs of past decade or so. He knows a thing or two about worship and leading worship.

If you haven't got this book I would recommend getting it! You can get it on Amazon.com for varying prices, or if you would prefer to use Amazon.co.uk, you can click here.

So I will be sharing some thoughts from each chapter in this book. From the "Otherness of God" to "Mysteries so Bright;" "Wroship with a Price" to "The Song of Creation." Each chapter holds a host of insight for us to learn more about what worship is all about and it starts by exploring the posture of Facedown worship.

Coming soon ...

We are going to be starting up a worship blog here on Hopehall's website. We will look at what the bible has to say on worship, explore what worship means to people, insights on worship from our own worship team, church leaders and our congregation.

We will also look at books on worship glean insights from well known contemporary worship leaders and Church leaders. Hopefully it will become a useful resource on the subject and help further knowledge and insight on this amazing subject.

Maybe there will even be new songs emerging in this ... exciting! Whatever happens though, our prayer is it will encourage, inspire, motivate and the lift His name higher in every word that is typed and said.

Until next time
